About the film
The film presents a portrait of Charly, a 60-year-old man who could be seen as a model of success in Germany. However, he becomes obsessed with living by rules and optimizing everything—from work to leisure—and controlling those around him. His adult children see him as selfish, and his current partner barely tolerates him. Yet Charly refuses to change his attitude, nor could he. The film captures moments from the life of a middle-class family, where unspoken issues and small traumas linger, leaving long-term consequences.
