Gabriela Pena, Picho García / Chile, Spain / 2026 / 94 min
Gabriela returns to her family’s abandoned home in Chile, hoping that repairing its rooms will help her uncover a past shaped by dictatorship and exile.
In Valparaíso, Gabriela strips away old wallpaper while five decades of family silence slowly come loose. Letters, diaries, home videos and conversations with her grandparents reveal both the violence they survived and the tenderness that held them together. The house gives the film its shape: every repaired wall brings her closer to her mother in Barcelona, and to a history carried by the next generation.
